ISS Aerospace is an established UK company that designs, builds, and operates cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems for a wide range of international clients and industry applications.

Our fully integrated UAS are BVLOS capable.  They are designed to collect, rapidly process, and deliver meaningful information during autonomous operations in challenging environmental conditions.

Our approach harnesses deep expertise, collaboration, innovation focused on customer needs, quality, rapid in-house iteration, and production.  We are proud to have achieved several UAS world firsts on our journey so far. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

You will be part of a small but growing team of software/hardware developers and engineers creating a world-changing solution.  

You will be a central focal point, providing support to ensure that the company is running as efficiently as possible, being the first line of support to the whole team, in particular the Chief Commercial Officer, and constantly looking to create an engaging and supportive environment for our team.  

It is an exciting time to join us because we are in the early growth and the work that you will do, will really make an impact. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with both high level and basic administrative tasks.  You will be reporting into our Chief Commercial Officer. 

  • Bookkeeping using Xero accounting software and reporting on finance matters including the businesses operational budget.
  • Quarterly VAT returns. 
  • Manage AP and AR ledgers including managing external relationships with customers and suppliers and vetting. 
  • Manage Pension compliance including auto enrolments. 
  • Run Payroll including HMRC monthly returns and manage employee expenses. 
  • Assisting external accountants with the Tax computation and R&D Tax credit.
  • Managing contracts including supplier registrations, invoicing, NDAs and compliance with customer standards such as DEFCONs, ISO Standards etc. 
  • Management and submission of claims for any grant funded work e.g Innovate UK.
  • Maximising efficiencies with company processes and systems.
  • Supporting a company approach both internally and externally (through relationships with external contractors) that is both respectful and inclusive, whilst managing sensitive HR information.
  • HR including onboarding new employees and optimising the employee platform. 
  • Supporting the Executive Team on strategic work.
  • Company Secretary for Parent and subsidiary entities including managing valuations, share options and legal filings. You will support the Chair of each of these entities for Board Meetings and General Meetings as well as the executive in preparing reports for the Board.
  • Security Controller (MOD vetting and site compliance).

 

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to staff wellbeing, team collaboration and play their part in building a great office culture. 

  • You will be well organised and used to working with enthusiastic, highly intelligent teams. 
  • You will need to be confident and methodical with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Keen to get involved, with a positive and can-do attitude and a passion for helping the team produce great results. 
  • Have a high level of numeracy with experience in Xero (or similar accounting packages) 
  • Have a formal accounting qualification such as: 
    • AAT Level 4  
    • ACA 
    • ACCA 
  • You will need to have excellent IT skills with a high level of accuracy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
  • Excellent presentation, communication and team working skills. 
  • Good eye for detail, with the ability to organise and multi-task. 
  • Able to take own initiative, deal with difficult situations effectively and calmly.
