THE ROLE
ISS Aerospace is seeking a Technical Sales Lead to join our growing team in the uncrewed systems industry. This role is central to our mission of providing an end-to-end capability: manufacturing, building, integrating, testing, and delivering cutting-edge UAS platforms, whether as production-ready systems or bespoke solutions within larger R&D and trials programmes.
The ideal candidate will bring proven sales expertise alongside a strong technical understanding of aerospace systems, with the ability to confidently represent, explain, and sell our UAS platforms to both new and existing customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead sales activity for our UAV platforms, from initial engagement through to closing deals
- Develop a deep technical understanding of our platforms, capabilities, and value propositions
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across defence, commercial, and R&D markets
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on uncrewed systems solutions
- Liaise closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are understood, feasible, and deliverable
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and presentations with technically accurate content
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and demonstrations
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecast opportunities, and report progress to senior leadership
- Drive growth of recurring revenue streams and expand market presence
- Work closely with our Marketing Manager on relevant campaigns and sales strategy to align our vision and growth.
YOUR PROFILE
- Proven track record in technical sales, ideally in aerospace, defence, robotics, or advanced technology sectors
- Experience selling complex engineered systems, with demonstrable results in closing significant contracts
- Strong understanding of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robotics, or aerospace systems (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to translate technical detail into clear customer value propositions
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Confident in engaging with senior decision-makers and stakeholders
- Commercial acumen with a strong results-driven mindset
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and communicate them effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills with a consultative, customer-focused approach
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a healthy sales pipeline
- Organised and disciplined in managing CRM tools, sales processes, and reporting
- Resilient, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to support business development efforts
The role involves occasional international travel to meet the needs of our diverse customer base and global projects. Candidates must hold a valid passport and be prepared to travel within the UK frequently to support trials, demonstrations, and customer engagements.
Applicants must be able to provide proof of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and employment or education history for up to three years. Certain projects will require the successful candidate to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance, which involves additional vetting and evidence submission.
